Welcome to Ninjist — the wishlist they'll never see coming.
What is Ninjist?
Ninjist lets you create a list of Ideas — things you'd love to receive as gifts — and share it with friends and family. The twist: you never know who has claimed what. Your givers stay secret. The surprise is preserved.
Creating Your Account
Sign up with Google. That's it. No passwords to remember, no forms to fill in. Once you're in, you'll land on your Dashboard.
Your First Idea
Head to the Ideas page and tap Add Idea. Give it a name, an optional link, and a price range if you like. You can mark it as SPECIFIC (you want exactly this) or EXAMPLE (something like this would be great).
Sharing Your Ninjist
Once you've added some Ideas, invite friends or join an Event. Anyone you invite can see your Ideas and claim them — secretly. You'll never see who claimed what on your own list.

Ideas
An Idea is anything you'd like to receive — a product, an experience, a book, a subscription. It's the core unit of your Ninjist.
Adding an Idea
From the Ideas page, tap Add Idea. You'll need:
- Name — what you want
- Link (optional) — a URL to the product
- Price (optional) — a rough figure helps your givers budget
- Type — SPECIFIC or EXAMPLE
SPECIFIC vs EXAMPLE

Use SPECIFIC when it matters. Use EXAMPLE when you want to give your givers room to surprise you.
Priority
Every Idea has a priority level, shown as a small icon on your Ninjist:

Priority is visible to your friends and fellow Event members so they always know where to focus.
Visibility
Every Idea has a visibility mode that controls who can see it:

| RESTRICTED | You decide — use an allow list, a block list, or both |
OPEN is the default. Switch to RESTRICTED when you want to share an Idea with only specific people, or hide it from specific people.
In RESTRICTED mode you use either an allow list (only these people can see it) or a block list (everyone except these people) — not both at once. Once you add someone to one list, the other is locked until you clear it.
If a block ever conflicts with an allow — for example because someone belongs to an allowed Event and a blocked Event — the block always wins.
Editing and Deleting
You can edit or delete any unclaimed Idea at any time. Once an Idea is claimed, you won't see that — remember, Ninjist keeps the surprise intact.
Friends
Friends are the people you trust with your Ninjist. When someone is your friend on Ninjist, you can see their Ideas and they can see yours.
Adding Friends
There are two ways to connect with someone:
- Search — find them by name or email if they already have an account
- Invite link — share a personal invite link; they follow it, create an account if needed, and you're connected
What Happens When You Connect
Once a friend request is accepted, you both immediately gain access to each other's Open Ideas. You can browse their list and claim anything you'd like to get them — and they can do the same for you, all without either of you knowing who's claimed what.
Free Tier Limit
The free tier supports up to 50 friends. Upgrade to Pro if you need more.
Events
An Event is a named circle of people — your family, a circle of friends, colleagues — who can all see each other's Ideas.
Creating an Event
Give the Event a name (e.g. "Henderson Family") and share the invite link with whoever you want to include. Anyone who joins via that link becomes a member.
What Members Can See
Every member of an Event can see every other member's Open Ideas. There's no opting in or sharing a separate list — membership is the access grant.
One Ninjist, Many Events
You have one pool of Ideas. Events are lenses over that pool, not separate lists. If your mum and your best friend are both in different Events, and you add a new Idea, they both see it — and only one of them can claim it. No duplicates, no confusion.
Free Tier Limit
The free tier supports up to 2 Events. When you try to create a third, you'll be prompted to upgrade to Pro.
Claims
Claiming an Idea is how you tell Ninjist — and other givers — that you're getting it. It keeps everyone coordinated without spoiling the surprise.
How to Claim
Browse a friend's or fellow Event member's Ideas and tap Claim on anything you'd like to get them. Other people viewing the same list will see that Idea is claimed, so they won't double up. The owner never sees any of this.
The Surprise Rule
The person whose Idea it is can never see claim information on their own list. They see their Ideas exactly as they added them — no indication of what's been claimed, how many claims exist, or who made them. This is enforced unconditionally.
Unclaiming
Changed your mind? You can unclaim an Idea at any time. It will become available for someone else to claim.
Two People at Once
If two people try to claim the same Idea at exactly the same moment, the first one through wins. The second person will be told the Idea was just claimed and can pick something else.
Sensei
Sensei is Ninjist's built-in AI assistant. It helps you write better Ideas — faster.
What Sensei Does
When you're adding an Idea, Sensei can fill in the details for you. Describe what you want in plain English — "a cosy throw blanket, something chunky and neutral" — and Sensei will suggest a name, type, and any other details it can infer. You stay in control; it just does the legwork.
Sensei helps with the Idea you're currently writing. It doesn't browse the internet or suggest Ideas unprompted.
How to Use It
Open the Add Idea panel and look for the Ask Sensei option. Type a description of what you want and let it fill in the form. Edit anything you'd like to change before saving.
Free Tier Limit
Sensei Smart Fill has a monthly usage cap on the free tier. If you use it often, upgrading to Pro removes the cap entirely.
Sensei's Suggestions
Sensei's Suggestions is Ninjist's personalised Idea recommender. It looks at what's already on your list and suggests new Ideas you might want to add.
Open the Add Idea panel and look for Sensei's Suggestions above the input options. Ninjist analyses your existing Ideas and generates five personalised suggestions. Tap any suggestion to pre-fill the title and type, then continue adding details.
Suggestions are generated fresh each time, and refreshing will explore different angles so you get varied results as your list grows.
You need at least four Ideas on your list before Suggestions will activate — there needs to be enough context to make meaningful recommendations.
Sensei's Suggestions is available on the Pro plan.
Profile
Your profile is how friends and Event members recognise you on Ninjist.
Your Name
You can set your First Name and Last Name from the Profile settings page. This is what people see when they search for you or view your Ideas.
Avatar
Upload a profile picture to help people find and recognise you. If you sign in with Google, your Google profile picture is used by default.
Account Settings
From the settings page you can also manage your notification preferences and connected accounts.
Deleting Your Account
If you'd like to remove your account entirely, you can do so from the bottom of the settings page. Deleting your account is permanent — your Ideas, claims, and connections will be removed.

Free Trial
Every new Pro subscriber gets a 7-day free trial. Your first payment is collected at the end of the trial period. If you cancel before the trial ends, you won't be charged. Free trials are available once per account.
Limits
The free tier has caps on the number of Ideas, Friends, and Events you can have. Most people never hit them — but if you do, Pro removes every cap. You can have as many Ideas, connections, and Events as you need.
Sensei
On the free tier, Sensei Smart Fill has a monthly usage limit. Pro gives you unlimited Smart Fill — useful if you add Ideas regularly or like to keep your list detailed and up to date.
Payments — Powered by GoCardless
Pro subscriptions are billed through GoCardless, a UK-based payments platform used by thousands of businesses. Your payment details are handled entirely by GoCardless — Ninjist never sees or stores your card information.
